Description

The bi-monthly journal Umění / Art has been published by the Institute for Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 1953. It evolved from a magazine of the same name, which had been produced by the publisher Jan Štenc since 1918 and is now the only periodical in the Czech Republic which aims at a systematic presentation of the most current research in Czech art history. Its content is predominantly concerned with art historical research which covers the early medieval period up to the twentieth century.
