Reviewers

General remarks

We greatly appreciate the time and effort given by reviewers in evaluating papers for publication in our journal. Thanks to your contribution authors publishing in Paladyn receive fast, fair and comprehensive review.

We encourage reviewers to use our online submission system Editorial Manager. You can also check how a whole peer-review system works in Versita.

Our standards

  • our reviewers are kindly requested to deliver reports in 3-4 weeks
  • communications are intended to be published in 6-7 weeks from receipt, research and review papers in 8-9 weeks, unless they need major revision by authors
  • research articles and communications are reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers, review papers by at least three
  • we pay special attention to receive unbiased, fair opinions; special policies govern allocation of reviewers to articles
  • whenever submission qualifies for publication but needs substantial revision, reviewers are asked to give comprehensive opinion on necessary improvements

Peer review guidelines

While preparing the reports, we ask our Referees to:

  • comment on originality of presented work,
  • evaluate authors' approach to discussed problem,
  • assess how much a paper is interdisciplinary, and how well it manages to combine different perspectives
  • evaluate reliability of obtained results and correctness of withdrawn conclusions,
  • comment on artistic and technical aspects of a paper,
  • give the final evaluation of a paper, inform us whether we should consider it further and what should be done in order to make it publishable (if it is possible),
  • give us an idea of possible impact that the paper might have.

Please note that accepted papers will undergo language editing by native English speakers. Incorrect grammar, style or punctuation should not be the reason to reject a paper if its content warrants the publication from the scientific point of view and is readable for the Reviewer.

Communications - should meet the key standards listed above and additionally should report high quality new work of such importance that merits urgent publication, and should be likely to make significant impact on the current research in the relevant area. If however a contribution is not justified to be handled via rapid channel it may be considered as a research paper, probably after expansion or revision.

Review Articles (Survey Papers) - should contain the most significant results of the subject under review. All reviews for Versita should be accurate scientifically, should describe the most relevant and recent contributions, the subject matter should be discussed competently and the choice of citations should be adequate and should not overlook important contributions of other scientists.

Confidentiality

Please, do not distribute copies of the manuscript or use results contained in without authors' permission. However, please feel free to show it to knowledgeable colleagues and to consult them about the review. Suggestions for alternative referees are helpful to the editors and would be appreciated.
