NAD provides a window on Nordic research on alcohol, drugs and other addictions and on related policy developments, with international contributions and commentaries.
-
The journal builds on the strong Nordic tradition of social alcohol and drug research, with policy and epidemiological studies, and quantitative as well as qualitative approaches. The global appreciation of the Nordic policy models and of the comparative research tradition is demonstrated in Nordic participation in many international studies and research networks.
-
The journal is read by researchers, also outside the Nordic countries, alcohol and drug policy authorities, politicians, voluntary organizations, the treatment sector and the media.

-
NAD is open for contributions from both Nordic and non-Nordic researchers and decision makers, and from junior as well as senior researchers.
-
Our focus is on addiction policy in its broadest sense. Articles on topical policy questions, comparative analyses and both quantitative and qualitative analyses or mixed methods are welcome.
-
We publish in English as well as in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish. NAD can in some cases provide help with translations or language checking.
-
If you are uncertain of whether your article is suitable for the journal, don’t hesitate to contact the editors at nad@nordicwelfare.org.
