Peer Review and Publication Policies

The practice of peer review is to ensure that high quality scientific material is published. The Editors reads each submitted manuscript to decide if the topic and content of the paper fit the aims and scope of IJSPM. Authors of manuscripts rejected at this stage will be informed within 2 weeks of receipt. Manuscripts that are appropriate are passed on to at least 2 experts for review. Special issues may have different peer review procedures involving Guest Editors.

IJSPM employs double blind review. With a double-blind review, neither reviewers’ nor authors’ identities are revealed to the other party. Referees are matched to the paper according to their expertise. Typically a manuscript will be reviewed within 2 months. Referees may request more than one revision of a manuscript. Authors should not hesitate to contact us if they believe their manuscript is taking too much time.

A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the corresponding author along with any recommendations made by the referees. Referees advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article.

If you are not currently a referee for IJSPM but would like to be added to the list of referees, please contact the editorial office at Audrius.Banaitis@st.vgtu.lt

The Editor-in-Chief determines the publication dates for accepted manuscripts. As a general rule, the Editor attempts to “balance” the topics covered in any one issue. Consequently, in an effort to balance the coverage of topics, the Editor may choose the articles to be included in a given issue from among those already accepted for publication.
