INSTRUCTION FOR REVIEWERS

Baltic Journal of Law & Politics (BJLP) is a scholarly journal that publishes scientific research (articles) in the fields of law and politics and in the interdisciplinary interstices between law, politics, and their respectively corresponding fields of theory.

Communication between the members of the Editorial Board, reviewers and authors is conducted primarily via e-mail.

Each submission to BJLP is initially reviewed by the Senior Editor-In-Chief or one of the Senior Editors prior being sent to the selected reviewers.

All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two reviewers, who are selected based on the field(s) of their specialization.

Reviewers are kindly asked to return their reviews within 4 weeks from receiving the article.

Neither the reviewers’ identities nor any communications inside the Editorial Board are disclosed to the authors. If a contributor is a member of the Editorial Board, he/she is suspended from all review processes related to his/her paper.

The Senior Editor-In-Chief together with the Senior Editors make their preliminary decision as to whether the manuscript should be published or not based on the reviewers’ opinions. If the decision is affirmative, the paper in PDF and MS Word formats is sent out via e-mail to all members of the Editorial Board for a one-week final consideration, during which the members of the Editorial Board are free to provide comments on the paper if they wish. After this period, the Senior Editor-In-Chief together with the Senior Editors make their final decision as to whether the manuscript should be published or not based on all information they have (including reviews and comments from the Editorial Board).

We greatly appreciate the time and effort given by the reviewers in evaluating papers for publication in our journal.

The BJPL review form (for reviewers) is attached in the right corner of this webpage.
