All manuscripts received by the Editor are considered as confidential documents.
Received manuscripts are first examined by the BJHPA editors.
Manuscripts considered manifestly unsuitable for publication in BJHPA are returned to the author without further review. The registered manuscripts are sent to qualified reviewers for scientific evaluation. The reviewers’ identities are not disclosed to the authors. The evaluation process should not take longer than 2 months.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript according the following criteria:

The manuscript can be evaluated as:
acceptable for publication without revisions
acceptable for publication with revisions
rejected
When the review process is finished, a letter with the comments and suggestions of the referee(s) regarding this manuscript will be passed on to the authors.
Any corrections suggested by the reviewers, should be made within the period of time indicated in the letter.
If the paper is accepted after major revisions, it will be submitted again for peer review to the same evaluator.
Manuscripts are accepted unconditionally if reviewers agree that the work can be published in its present form. If reviewers disagree or feel that the manuscript should be accepted subject to specific corrections, the editors may decide to send the work to another reviewer or return it to the author for correction.
The ultimate decision to accept for publication, accept subject to correction, or reject a work is the prerogative of the editors and cannot be appealed. The editors are not obliged to justify their decision.
