Manuscripts (in English) should be submitted to the Editorial Office by e-mail to: advances@advms.pl as an attachment.

In the subject of the e-mail please write:

“Manuscript submission; the surname of the first author”

(example: “Manuscript submission; Johnson”)

File Preparation
The final version of the manuscript, figures and tables should be submitted by e-mail.

• The textmust be in Microsoft Word format.

• Tablesmust be in Microsoft Word format.

• Photographsmust be in JPG or TIFF format, preferred resolution 300 dpi.

• Drawingsmust be in JPG, GIF or EPS format

• Graphsmust be in JPG, EPS or PDF format

Closing date
The manuscripts can be submitted constantly.

Attachments

The manuscript must be accompanied by:

• a written TRANSFER OF COPYRIGHT and PUBLISHING STATEMENT (available at www.advms.pl ),
• (in case of experimental studies) a statement that the protocol of study and informed consent were in compliance with the Helsinki Convention and were approved by local Ethics Committee.

Upon acceptance of the manuscript, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright to the publisher.

Conflict of Interest
Authors are requested to provide a statement concerning any commercial associations or patent licenses that might result in a conflict of interest with the work presented in the submitted paper. This may be placed in the Acknowledgements sections.

Permissions
Materials copied from other sources must be accompanied by a written statement from both the author and publisher giving permission to Advances in Medical Sciences for reproduction. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that such permissions are obtained.

Research articlesshould present original research and address a clearly stated specific hypothesis or question. Papers should provide novel approaches and new insights into the problem addressed. 

Articles should be written in English (either British or American spelling). Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their manuscripts checked by a professional translator or a native speaker prior to submission.

Research articlesshould be divided into the following sections:

• Title page
• Abstract (with Key words)
• Introduction
• Material and Methods
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusions
• Acknowledgements
• References

TITLE PAGE

It should contain the following information:

• Title,
• Running title,
• Full names of all authors,
• Authors’ affiliations,
• Corresponding author contact information (address, telephone, fax, e-mail).

ABSTRACT

Abstract, of no more than 250 words should be provided on a separate page, organized in structural form, and should consist of four paragraphs:

• Purpose,
• Material/Methods,
• Results,
• Conclusions.

The abstract should include Key words. Key words (3-6) or short phrases should be added to the bottom of the abstract page. Use terms from the Medical Subject Headings list from Index Medicus.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The acknowledgments for financial support and conflict of interests must be disclosed here. Also, acknowledgments of the contributions of colleagues can be stated in this section.

TABLES

Tables should be presented in a separate file and a title for each of them should be provided. Tables should be numbered in Arabic numerals in the order in which they are cited in the text. Vertical rules should be used. The position of each table should be indicated in the manuscript. Tables must be sent in Microsoft Word format and have no links to the main document or other archives.

FIGURES

Figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of appearance in the text, where they are referred to as Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc. Figures that include more than one image should be labelled as a, b, c, etc. (small letters).

Figure legends with descriptive titles should be provided in a separate file. If needed, a short description is also accepted. Footnotes can be included below the figure.

• Graphsmust be in JPG, EPS or PDF format

REFERENCES

Should be numbered in the order they appear within the manuscript and listed in ‘References section’;

In the textthey should be referred to by numbers in square brackets. In the ‘References section’ items should be listed numerically in the order they are cited in the text, not alphabetically. All authors of the cited items should be included, regardless of the number.Journals titles should be abbreviated as shown in Index Medicus.
